Research Relevance

Prof. Pelletier's research program uses evolutionary ecology methods to improve our understanding of the relationships among early-life reproduction, the potential advantages of post-reproductive longevity, and the patterns of senescence. Her research ultimately aims to improve our understanding of the underlying evolutionary mechanisms at work in the evolution of senescence patterns and longevity.

Representative Achievements

  • 2009-2018: Canada Research Chair in Evolutionary Demography and Conservation
  • Shed light on eco-evolutionary dynamics in natural environments and in human populations.
  • Documented patterns of heritable senescence among wild animals.

Know-How
