Researchers Contribute to Vie et vieillissement Bulletin

Gina Bravo, Marie-France Dubois and Nicole Dubuc, all researchers at the CSSS-IUGS's Research Centre on Aging, along with Cinthia Corbin, a project coordinator at the CSSS-IUGS, have contributed to the latest edition of the quarterly bulletin of the Association québécoise de gérontologie Vie et vieillissement. The subject of their article is the certification of private seniors' residences (PSRs) as regards the response to that client group's needs.

From pages 51 to 58, the authors discuss the increase in the number of PSRs and the motivations which led to a certification program for that type of residence a few years ago. Based on the results of a recent study funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the authors identify the impact of certification on quality and safety to finally reveal the issues raised by the main objective of guaranteeing quality services and a safe living environment to PSR residents.
